Professional Experience

This will be my seventh year teaching fourth grade at Bayside Co Elementary.   Prior to that, I was a middle school science teacher in Georgia and in New Jersey, my home state.

I graduated with a BS in Environmental Science from Richard Stockton College. Later, I received my post-baccalaureate in education from Rowan University. I am certified to teach grades Pre-K-8, with a concentration in science and social studies.

Since joining Bayside Elementary as an educator, I have been involved with different innovative programs to enhance my classroom instruction.

Specifically, I have received training in IN-TECH, now known as TIPS, a program designed to incorporate technology across the curriculum. Next, I have been active as a CORE team member. CORE team members worked hard to design quality standards-based units of instruction, with the end result in mind. A major component of this concept is creating and reporting appropriate assessment to gauge student achievement. A focus of my teaching includes goal setting and reflecting by students. Students then actually "lead" the parent/teacher/student conference each fall.

This year, I will continue as a WOW leader at the grade level. WOW is "working on the work". Our work as teachers is to design and implement quality instruction. Through quality design and collaboration, our students will benefit with the highest achievement possible.
